Microfoam XFS

  • An innovative material that is inherently lightweight. At roughly half the density of comparable polyethylene, Microfoam XFS PP foam is much easier to handle and more cost effective to ship.
  • Renowned for having a high coefficient of friction. In essence the material grips or immobilizes the product. This characteristic substantially lowers the risk of damage from product movement during transport (i.e. roller bruising of fruit).
  • The optimum choice for interleaving between produce layers or die-cut to line RPCs (returnable plastic containers). It can also be used as interleaving between layers of frozen foods.
  • Non-abrasive and chemically inert so it will not leave a residue on items with which it may come in contact.
  • Has better breathability characteristics than comparable to polyethylene foams. Microfoam XFS is a better choice when vapor transmission is a concern.
  • Can be converted in a number of ways to appropriately accommodate specific packaging applications. It can be perforated on a roll, sheeted, die-cut and/or laminated to films or kraft for added tear strength and puncture resistance.
  • Can be ventilated to help optimize gassing, ripening, and/or refrigeration of fresh produce during post-harvest treatment, storage and transportation.
  • Can also be laminated to Astro-Cell bubble cushioning for added immobilization. This innovative custom product, the Microfoam XFS Air-Pad, provides maximum stabilization of trays from top to bottom within product cases.
  • Works well with automated dispensing systems strategically positioned at a workstation, above a moving conveyor to automatically measure, cut and place Microfoam XFS pads into cartons.

Cushion-Lite Polyethylene Foam

Superior, versatile packing protection for most surfaces – without excess weight. Cushion-Lite Foam is an easy-to- wrap material that protects and gently cushions. Benefits

  • Flexible and easy to use. Use non-abrasive foam for wrapping or interleaving.
  • Tear resistant. Protects products with sharp edges.
  • Cushioning. Cushion-Lite foam has bounce-back memory to withstand shock and vibration during the shipping cycle.
  • Recyclable. Cushion-Lite can be reused and is recyclable.

Applications

  • Interleaving – Use for stacking items that are boxed or placed on skids.
  • Wrapping – Use to wrap sharp edges, corners, or wrap the entire product for optimal protection. It conforms to unusual or irregular shapes.
  • Surface Protection – Use to protect finished, polished, or painted surfaces from damage.
  • Cushioning – Use to absorb shock and reduce the effects of external impacts and vibrations in shipping cycle.

Discover Cell-Aire Foam Performance
As part of our continuing commitment to research and development, Cell-Aire® low-density polyethylene foams are designed for consistent performance. They are formulated to provide superior high-cling, low-slip product protection without leaving the greasy residue common to most polyethylene packaging foams. Supported by a knowledgeable, consultative sales force ready to work with you to determine the best solution for your particular application, Cell-Aire® foams are recyclable through Sealed Air’s foam return program, reusable, contribute to source reduction and are CFC
and HCFC-free.

Reduce Product Damage
Greater tear-and-puncture resistance and improved corner protection make Cell-Aire foam the ideal choice for eliminating damage over polypropylene foams, loose ll and die-cuts.

Reduce Packaging Material Costs
Compared to polypropylene foams, Cell-Aire polyethylene foam provides better protection allowing you to use less wraps or down gauge to a thinner material. To further reduce material waste, Cell-Aire polyethylene foams are available in handy sheets, pouches and perforated rolls. In virtually every case, we can save your company time and money while making your job much easier!

Enhance Product Appearance
Unlike loose ll packaging, Cell-Aire foam won’t create a mess, or add to clean-up costs, for you or your customer. You can also use less material and reduce carton size.

Safeguard Delicate Surfaces
Non-abrasive Cell-Aire® foam gently protects without scratching, smudging or leaving residue. Packaging paper, newsprint and single-face corrugated can scratch or mar delicate surfaces.
